The Driver Drill Club is an idea that was originally put together several years ago by Gravity Golf instructor Pete Dunham out of South Carolina. After spending time with my father when we lived in Arkansas and seeing him have us do the Driver Drill, he took it back to his students who began to meet up twice a week to work as a group. It wasn't long before everyone was being astounded at the distance increases they all began to see. Almost to the effect of something out of Cocoon =). Since then we have started many groups across the country with the same results. It is a great way not only to get in a very worth while practice in a short amount of time, but as cardiovascular exercise. This blend of intense practice while working out of a drill mode forces your body to work more efficiently as you tire. There really is no substitute for how fast you can develop power through this drill.
To make the time spent as efficient as possible and give you the best chance at getting your body to respond the way you would like, it is recommended to go through the Gravity Fitness Routine. Outstanding demonstration with commentary on the various drills that can be incorporated into the driver drill. I did it several times last year, and I agree that it really ingrains the feeling into the swing.
ReplyDeleteAlthough an excellent presentation of the amazing gains to be made by utilizing the driver drill, this is the best demonstration, and explanation, of the applied rotational throw of the swing yet.
